Conduit Gets Involved
Conduit Participates in Our Community with Charity Work for the SPCA and Austin Smiles
AUSTIN,
Texas (July 9, 2002) Whether it's diving into a new web design
or driving out to the local SPCA to lend a hand, members of Conduit
Interactive are doing their part for the Austin community. The team at
Conduit, an award-winning, full-service design and interactive development
firm, has been doing pro bono website design, photography, and programming
for the local SPCA as well as the Austin Smiles program.
Donna
Clancy-Goertz, senior art director at Conduit has been donating her
services to the Central Texas SPCA by maintaining the shelter's website.
Clancy-Goertz drives out to the SPCA and takes pictures of all the
animals. She then puts the pictures, along with names and brief descriptions
of the animals, on the organization's website. The pictures are available at
www.CentralTexasSPCA.com for
anyone who wishes to adopt a pet.
Clancy-Goertz,
who has been volunteering since October 2001, said, "Every pet deserves a
warm and loving home. I love doing my part to help them find one. The SPCA
is a wonderful organization-it provides a good clean shelter with plenty of
room to run while the animals wait for the right home."
Members of
Conduit have also been at work for the charity Austin Smiles. Senior
Developer Jacob Stearns and Developer Patrick Schneider are helping
to map out a plan to extend the organization's database. Austin Smiles
is a non-profit organization that helps fund corrective surgery for
children with cleft lips and similar problems.
Stearns
said he and Schneider are working to improve the functionality of the
organization's current database by making it easier to track applications,
donations, doctors, and foundations that are involved with the charity.
